So it’s the last monday before Christmas. If you don’t have your stuff together at this point, it might be too late friend! Not even Bruce the elf can help you!
I actually had this weekend off from work, and it was a much needed break. I am burnt-out people! Burnt-out! How many different ways can I say that I am tired? I went all out this season, and I maybe shouldn’t have – especially after the thoroughly rough fall. From all the projects, commitments, work, and then finishing it off with our big Christmas party last weekend. At least we have the Christmas tree up, so I can pop my head into the dining room and bask in its warm glow.
I did take the chance to spend some much needed time with DH. Did you know we haven’t spent a full weekend together since early september, and even then there was probably one of DH’s friends kicking around! I think the most time we had together on a weekend was 5hrs one sunday. Basically, we needed some time as a couple to reconnect before the final holiday push and the madness of the New Year.
I also had the chance to do some baking for pleasure – Red velvet sugar cookies with cream cheese icing from Cooking Classy – no less! They are delicious and were a fun way to relax while watching the snow fall outside the big windows. We haven’t plastic-wrapped our windows this year because it’s been so warm to date, which means I still get unobstructed views of the yard and the snow.
With almost everybody crossed-off our Christmas list, today was spent wrapping gifts. I’ve got them colour-coordinated so that I can easily tell which gifts go to which family when sorting them out from the trunk of the car as we assemble our loot. I can actually feel some of you rolling your eyes at that one – DH certainly did. Homesense also had these great gift bags this year, so I bought one for each family so that we can bring the gifts in that way.
While I did get a NYE craft done and photographed, I didn’t get any other Christmas crafts done. Instead I’m sharing my top 5 crafts from this season for you to revisit in case your memory is a little foggy.
My Christmas house tour and gift guide, my DIY starburst wreath, my DIY cookie cutters, my peppermint vodka, and my holiday boughs.
Wish me luck with my last four shifts before Christmas vacation starts.
Live boldly guys.
