It’s finally here! The Christmas tree reveal! This is the first year that I’ve actually figured-out how to photograph my Christmas tree without it blowing out in the photos, so yippee for me! I’m learning! If you’re trying to do so as well, you might wanna look through Pic Monkey’s tips.
Remember how I said I was moving more pink into our Christmas decor? Well, nowhere is that more present than in our Christmas tree… although it is all over the house tour and gift guide.
We drove to get our tree on a friday after work in the middle of our first snow, and then I got to dress it all on my own the next day while DH was away for a mess dinner. Fun! No not really. I’ve ended up doing it on my own for the past couple of years simply because of circumstance. I hope that next year I’ll be able to dress the tree with DH! I can always dream, right?
Our ornament collection started as a modest bunch of balls from Canadian Tire on a bough in our first apartment (Oh! the early days), and over the years has evolved into a personal collection of glass ornaments, colourful balls, hand-made ornaments and then all the pretty ones that catch my fancy.
I incorporated the pink pallet into our red, gold, copper, bronze and silvers this year. Bunches of ornaments from Luxe Habitat (found at Homesense) and some bigger balls from Dollarama added the requisite pops of colour.
I like to add nature inspired ornaments to the tree; nothing looks more natural than some birds, squirrels and pinecones in a tree. I mean they may be red, pink and glittery, but hey! It’s all there and it all looks good.
My up cycled Christmas ornaments made it onto the tree and look fabulous, but there was no doubt there.
I spy this year’s Starbucks christmas cup ornament, as well as a little glass soldier (my favourite ornament). I’ve also got my DIY base maple leaf ornaments on there too. They’re my ride or die ornaments, they’re following me to the grave.
I thought I’d also include some pics of my pretty and beautifully wrapped Christmas gifts. How many of these are boxes of nothing, and how many are full of gifts? That’s for me to know and DH to find out.
Anyone want to place a bet on how long this little gummy man will last until Bruce eats it?
Live boldly.
[…] At first I thought it was just our large box of coloured balls (all pink from last year // here //) but after going through all our boxes it looks like a few of our nicer pieces went missing too. […]
