Remember how I’ve already kinda done an Easter/ Spring tablescape as part of a blog hop a few weeks ago // here //? Well, the other day while trying to put together a chocolate bunny easter centerpiece, I accidentally set an entire table. I had wanted to create a simple basket full of chocolate bunnies with big bows on them, but once I got everything together it just wasn’t working! *gasp. I then started trying to put the bunnies on place settings to see if I had anything interesting there. Before I knew it, I had assembled a DIY Kate Spade Inspired Easter Tablescape using all of my best entertaining DIYs, and some place setting faves. Talk about kismet!
I also got to finally incorporate a few DIYs I had done using products from Walnut Hollow and Crates & Palett. I did them up for independent blog posts (and I may still) but as they currently stand I think they’re perfect as part of my DIY Kate Spade Inspired Easter Tablescape.

As you can see, I’ve got the best of the best out on display here. This haphazard table composition feels very much like how brunch feels, and it’s definitely not for a formal sit-down. I’ve got chocolate bunnies with bowties, plainted plaids, fresh dishes, and of course, some bubbly.

The cutting boards are from Walnut Hollow, and I painted them in fun patterns. The tiny one is just white with polka dots, and the bigger one (which you’ll see below) is bold colourful stripes – perfect for summer! and for holding chocolate easter bunnies. It’s all very Kate Spade inspired.
The bowtie bunnies were where it all started. Brown isn’t an obvious decor colour for a tablescape, but I figured with big pink bows that they might look more whimsical. It was a great way for me to re-use some left-over ribbon ends from Christmas projects too!
So here’s the tricky thing: there’s no real super legit way to make painted cutting boards food safe. I figure that with sealed chocolate we’re safe though, especially since the paint is super dry. I’m going to try painting the other side and sealing it (two options – one board!) so I’ll keep you guys posted about that.

This really slick wine bottle carrier is actually from Crates & Palette, and you can find them on Wayfair // here //I painted it Baby Blue (DecoArt’s Americana Acrylics) and added daisies (also DecoArt Americana Acrylics).
With this tablescape, it’s really about the details instead of the grand, sweeping panoramas – hence all the close-ups. I’m big on deliberately chaotic details that are placed with care (if any of that makes sense).
Because I’m not a big easter decor person, a lot of the super thematic details were snagged at the dollar store for under 2$.
What really makes this a Kate Spade Inspired Easter Tablescape is the mix of stripes, colour blocking, and gold. I’ve always been drawn to her use of colour, and it really gets to shine in tablescapes and styled vignettes.
That’s one of the reasons I really love the polka dot bunny I found at Homesense. Accented with a gingham ribbon and lots of pink and gold, he is in stylistic harmony with his surroundings. I wish I could keep hom out year-round!
Can we talk about the drink carrier though? I can’t get over how cute it look with a big green ribbon and some pink lemonade. I’m already thinking of a post with 4 ways to style it.
