When summer rolls around I invariably try to spend as much time as I can outside. Sometimes that means the indoors get less attention, but with our master bedroom in progress // here // and our newly completed outdoor spaces thanks to the ORC // here // who can blame me! That being said, I always try to zhuzh-up the interior. So for this edition of the summer eclectic home tour, I’m showing you the little seasonal changes I’ve made to our dining room, kitchen and living room. OH! and before I kick that off, I thought I’d thank Jess of Domicile 37 for organizing the tour.
Remember our kitchen that we re-did this spring?! // here // well it continues to look amazing, just saying is all. I’m going to out on a limb here when I say “lilac,” but there are giant lilac bushes around the PMQs and they’re all in bloom! Today you may have spotted me roaming the PMQs with a pair of sizeable garden sheers looking surreptitiously for a place to snip a few branches. I got what I was looking for and brought them home to put in my green vase. It was a thrifted find from VV boutique a while back and I just haven’t had the perfect thing for it. This will do just fine though.
The lilac bushes have been here a full 6hrs and the house already smells amazing. I think I need to head back out and grab a few more to stash around the house. I just need to make sure there aren’t any bugs!
And no, that beautiful piece of art // here // does not usually sit there, but I wanted to try it out, and I’ve gotta tell ya, I don’t hate it there… hmm Oh, and that cute little recipe box can be found // here //
Next in the living room we’ve got a few minor changes. You may have seen on instagram and then in the #MyHomeStyle post // here //, but we’ve got a red wingback chair (also thrifted) in the living room now. We found it at our local Habitat Re-Store, which began our never-ending game of musical chairs. The green one moved upstairs to the bedroom, but it has now moved to the basement. I said I would never be in the business of hoarding furniture, but it looks like I’m now in the business of hoarding furniture. Some pieces are too good to pass-up!
You will also notice a fun new foot-stool. See, it comes with a chair. When my grandmother passed away she left me the set because she knew I loved the pattern on the fabric. The Russian Dames have always intrigued me and where by far the coolest thing in her sitting room (after all the cool monogramed silver and MCM lamps – the woman had style). Anyways, that chair is now upstairs in the bedroom but we can’t fit the stool, so it’s going to try-out life in the living room.
You may also notice that the bookshelves got a re-style, and I’m loving their “paired-down” nature. A week or so ago I went through the house and did my version of the konmari method and then sold a lot of stuff and game some away. What’s left has survived the purge.
Which leads us into the dining room. I know I haven’t fully unveiled the new table set and how it plays into the room (I’ve just teased you with it), but I’m mainly waiting on a few other things to fall into place. Now that I’ve got my kick-ass outdoor bar cart set-up // here // I’ll be doing more drink mixing out back. I still need the inside to look sharp as a tack though, so the dining room is set-up to mix the occasional drink
Love the disco ball print? Get your own // here //
Love that lamp? Get your own // here /
Did you know we still have our fiddle fig? Yea, I re-potted that sucker and put it into something much bigger. It was meant to go outside but the weather hasn’t been warm-enough so I think my baby will stay inside. I also added a snake plant for fun, but I’ve got plans to move it into the master bedroom.

Love the new footstool! I love how the pattern looks against the other patterns.
Me too! I think it’s the perfect fit
Your dining room gets me EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I’M enamored with its vibrance and i’m highly anticipating see the new set when its ready for show!! that heirloom footstool is rockin’, girl. You really have one of my favorite homes. rock on, bold hue lover. rock on!! ????????
That means I am doing something right!! I love the vibrance too, but I’ve still got a few things to swap ’round so check-back soon!
I am so glad to be in the pantheon of your favourite homes – I can only assume what kind of company I’m with!
You’re house always puts a big smile on my face! I just love your use of color… So much fun in every corner! I love your new red wingback, too! I have furniture hoarder issues myself, and I’d have to agree, you definitely did the right thing by buying that chair 😉
Well thank you Karrie 🙂 You just put a smile on my face! So glad my colourful home tour is well received.
You dont even know how jealous I am of your lilac bushes….so gorgeous! With my newfound love for pink, I am having a fit over your home and all of your decor, I love your bold approach to color and am trying to learn how NOT to be a chicken with it myself. Fabulous tour, girl!
hahaha I definitely stole those 😉
The thing about colour is that you can jump right in! Go bold with something small and see how it creeps around after that 😉
Your house reminds me of candy….it is so colorful and full of sweetness!
I’ll take it! Especially since I have a sweet tooth 😉
I need to have a cocktail surrounded by those beautiful coral walls!!!
You sure do! Get on over here <3
I love that new mcm dining set you have, and though I understand you are considering reupholstering the chairs, I hope you never do because it’s sooooo awesome the way it is!! And please tell me where you found the pot that holds your fiddle leaf- so cool! (Btw- I’m also in a purging mood…)
I think we’re on the same page 😉 I just want to paint the room ahaha it’ll be easier and cheaper than reupholstering the whole set PLUS we can keep the original upholstery which is in fab condition.
I snagged that giant pot at HomeSense for about 60$, I am beyond happy with it!
Ariel! This is so fabulously beautiful! I loved seeing everything in context! You have such a unique and developed sense of style! SO SO SO beautiful!
xo,
H
Aww thanks Heather! I really don’t have that many spaces (or space for that matter) so “in context” can be achieved with a quick tilt of the camera ahaha
your home is so fresh and fun, it’s like a glass of freshly squeezed juice. Energizing and delicious! ???? Now I want juice.
I love that image! A glass of fresh juice! perfect!
Your home is so fun!!! The pattern and color mix is bold and beautiful! Beautiful tour!
Thanks Carol! <3
I think Boots is your ultimate accessory!
He sure is <3
Finally got to have a proper read, and I love it! Your home is so bright and fun, and I think I need that disco ball print in my life, stat.
Thanks Lizzie <3 Kindred colour spirits eh? That disco ball print is pretty damn amazing. I am beyond happy with it, and I've tried it in different rooms. It works every time!
You are the QUEEN of vignettes!! Your home is always so full of life and personality. It’s truly beautiful year-round!!
I humbly accept the crown <3 Thanks for the kind words too!
Ooh! love the wing back and foot stool in the living room! The fabric is amazing. Your styling is always so interesting and fun and I never get tired seeing all the beautiful color in your home!
Thanks so much Kathy! I never get tired of it either! 😉
