Painted Plaid Chargers

October 13, 2017~ DIY and craft projects, painting, Parties & entertaining, tablescape

Nothing says fall like plaids and buffalo checks of all kinds; flannels, napkins, blankets, shirts and even socks! I decided to put mine on two plastic platters to serve as colourful chargers and you can too using the Americana Chalky Finish paints in combination with your acrylics. As we enter the mother of all entertaining seasons I thought it would be fun to create some custom painted plaid chargers or sous-plats dishes. These are super easy to make, and you can create your own using plastic plates, proper chargers or even wood platters.

p.s My best well known attempt at this has been my vinyl Otomi chargers which I did last summer // here //.

You can catch the full tutorial for painted plaid chargers on the DecoArt blog // here //

This is where I got to test-out the painted plaid chargers with a good ole’ slice of pie. I think the colours are fantastic for fall, and I may in fact make some more in different colours. Black, white and grey, and some pinks and reds would look lovely. You could even makeover plates if you wanted!

Point being, don’t be afraid to use paint for all kinds of crafts, and play around with all the finishes because you may find a new use for one, like I did with the painted plaid chargers.

OH, and if you’re loving the animal plates, they’re from Anthropologie (you can buy them in the Shop My Style section of the blog // here //), and the clock face plates are by Ralph Lauren.
