Pink & Gold Office Revamp

Hello? Yes, it’s me. I own 50% of this company. Now that we’ve been in the studio for a while, we felt a more comfortable playing with the floor plan, and switching up how we had our workspaces organized within the larger space. Because I’ve been eyeing Crates & Palett’s gold shelf brackets since I heard that they were coming out with some, I reached-out and asked if they’d like to do a pink & gold office revamp with me.

Now before you lose your mind over how cute this is, can we all just marvel at the fact that I have shelves that go almost all the way to the ceiling?! I am so happy to finally go vertical with storage in this space. As Kassidy and I start to bring things in for the fall & holidays, we’re both starting to find it a little cramped.

By moving my desk around, adding a massive wall of shelves, and selling off some pieces, we gained a lot of square feet. We also moved her stuff around, and now the space works for us again.

The Gold part of the Office Revamp

I don’t think you guys need a tutorial on pitting up shelves. If you do, check Youtube! I do highly suggest you look into what kind of material you’re drilling into / hanging on. The studio is one giant cement brick box, so I needed cement screws and a masonry bit. I found a neat set at Home Depot that had both (score!), as well as the white melamine shelves I needed.

The gold shelf brackets from Crates & Palett are not only sturdy, pretty, and gold – they’re highly functional! Can’t beat that. You can grab yours online now!

The Pink part of the Office Revamp

You know that our studio is called Blush & Brass studios, so this colour palette is nothing knew. You also know that I’ve got some killer pink lamps from Lamps Plus (from their Color Plus collection), so I used those as the starting off point for this makeover.

I also used Behr’s Belle Mia (from the Marquee Collection) to paint over the green chalkboard. The green wasn’t a colour match for the other shades of green in the space, and it really took away from the potential. In two quick coats, I covered up the chalkboard.

Accessorizing a Pink & Gold Office

I tried to do this revamp with some purpose. In addition to using the gold shelf brackets, I reached-out to several women owned/run small businesses on Etsy, to see if they would part with some of their prints or pieces. Lucky me, many of them did! I’ve got quite a robust collection of items from years of collecting, so now I get to be more picky when adding to my collection.

I want to by drawing your attention to the insane amount of styling props I’ve already got. It’s a bit much honestly, but would you believe me if I told you that everything gets used regularly? Maybe not in content you see, but it’s being used. Trust me.

The prints on the chalkboard are from BLEK Prints. I love the colours, lines, and imagery in her work. I chose her Abstract Female Face, The Kate Moss Print, as well as Bang Bang. You can buy them printed, or for download and print yourself.

You may have also noticed the Women Women Women print on the chalkboard. Rhianna Marie Chan’s Etsy store is full of the colours, fonts, and style that I’m really digging these days. Everything from pro-women & feminist pieces, to cute bags and T-shirts. My kinda place!

I grabbed the Women of All Colours print, as well as Feminist Magic print. I love the colours, design, and message – who wouldn’t?! She also sent me a few goodies, but I’ll roll those out later.

Let’s talk about this adorable handmade Zebra. I’ve been eyeing him in Haus Matter’s Etsy store for a few months now, and finally had the perfect opportunity for it. The blue hooves, silly expression, and mane felt like a great addition for the shelves.

I would have also loved any number of things from her store, but the Zebra was the one that did it for me.

You can expertly still see some yellow poking through on the wall. That’s the thing about brick. It’s actually pretty tricky to cover up, especially with all the pocks and grooves. Don’t hold it against me though!

You may even recognize some other pink, gold, and colourful accessories from elsewhere in the studio, on the shelves. I love nothing more than setting up a shelfie, so I took great pleasure in styling the shelves.

Last but not least, let’s talk about my Fearless Girl T-shirt from Skylar Yoo. They’re an online retailer with their own site, but the etsy store is how I found them. I wore it for one of my presentations at Haven this past month, and absolutely love the message. I mean, what’s not to love?
