How To Make DIY Party Koozies

The prospect of warm weather here has made got me thinking of summer days, summer nights, and all kinds of outdoor gatherings. You know what goes well with a cold beer (or mixer) while sitting under the pergola? My DIY Party Koozies, of course.

They’re unique, colourful, and a great hostess gift this summer. I made mine using my Cricut machines, and couldn’t be happier with the result. What are you waiting for? Crack open a cold one, sit back and relax.

I am so in love with my giant astro turf carpet, so you can be sure I’ll be using it for any and all party posts in the studio. And if you remember my DIY Tiki Bar Cart Linens from last year, you know I love to do a bar cart scene using my Cricut.

How to make custom Koozies using your Cricut

Start by creating the words you want to cut, in the Cricut Design Space. If you’re unsure how to do that catch my tutorial, on how to use the Cricut Design Space.

I’ve got the project saved publicly for you to make // here //

Applying Heat Transfer Vinyl

Apply your vinyl to the cutting mat using your applicator tool – it really does make a difference with air bubbles. Once you’re good to go, hit “Go” and cut the words! I did the project for each sheet of coloured Iron On, so I cut 5 sheets.

Once all the sheets are cut, trim the words down to size and weed the vinyl.

Combine letters, make combos, create patterns – test it all out on the koozies so that you’re not trying to figure it out with a hot EasyPress sitting there, beeping at you.

Using the Cricut Easy Press

Set your EasyPress to the appropriate temparature, follow the guidelines, and apply your iron-on. Remember to peel the top plastic off when it’s cool.

Once you’re done, admire them! And then get ready to party.
