Let’s start with the tablescapes! The wedding is happening in a beautifully oak panelled mess in Ontario. Think of old portraits of the queen, lots of swords and brass, and drapes that need a good cleaning. It’s going to be glorious I tell you! Glorious! After taking with my friend at length about the vibe she wanted, I knew the centrepieces had be wintery, have blue and green undertones, and not look out of place in the mess. So without further ado, a winter wedding centrepiece!

With my marching orders in hand I went about the Afloral site looking for the right pieces…
I started with these birch vases // here // as I knew they’d be clean and muted, while complex when lit by candles. Finding an affordable and easy bloom for the vase was a bit trickier. She didn’t want flowers and really liked the idea of branches, but those would add too much height to the tables in an already visually busy room. Enter the flocked berry bush (in grey) // here //, swooping greenery and winter greenery with the cedar spray // here // the artificial snowy pine // here // and the faux mini lotus pods // here //.

They all look so beautiful together without being overwhelming. The vibrant greens support the white and taupe of the berry bush, while the muted colours allow the green shine. It’s a match made in wintery wedding heaven!
No wedding centrepiece is complete without candles. Tappers wouldn’t do the trick, again, because the room is quite visually busy at eye-level, so it would have to be votives. But not just any votives, they had to pick-up the blues in the tabelcloth and the metals around the mess (gold, brass and silver). I found a few sets of votives in blue // here in Taupe & Blush // a couple of boxes of gold mercury glass //here // and then the these pink mercury glass votives were the piece de resistance // here // because they picked-up on the touches of blush that I had planned for the bouquets.
Sprinkled around the base of the birch vase, the votives are the perfect touch. When the flames dance, so will the light along the tabelscape. I added these fun vibrant green bottle brush trees // here // to help fill the tablescape and complete the winter greenery theme.
In terms of place settings, these are obviously stylized, but I think they showcase a classic pattern with beautiful marbling and gold tipping. Once again, we find the blush and gold in the napkins, and the greenery with the white anemone and blue velvet ribbon are perfect.
The white birds are a finishing touch that I couldn’t help myself but add. They bring that touch of nature and whimsy to the scene, while looking perfectly natural, because, well, birds live in trees // here //.
I thought using the champagne bottle as a table number was fun. I used my Cricut to cut the number and some blue velvet ribbon // here // to hang it off the bottle.
