So we’re FINALLY getting around to sharing the details of our amazing bed. We bought a Wayfair Sleep 10″ Firm Memory Foam Mattress this past August when we moved into our new 1960s home. HOWEVER, I didn’t want to do a post about it until the rest of the room came together. Wayfair has been very patient with me while that happened, so now that we’re a day away from the reveal I can’t wait to share with you!

Choosing a Box Mattress
We bought our first Wayfair Sleep mattress last year when we redid the Kate Spade Inspired guest room in our PMQ. We bought it for our daybed, but we enjoyed sleeping on it so much (because we slept in different rooms then), so when the time came to update from a Queen to a King, we went with Wayfair Sleep.
It’s a box mattress i.e it arrives rolled in a box, but that has had no adverse effects on the quality. One of the reasons we had stayed away from them in the past, is that we were unsure how comfy they would be, but they have proven to be exceptional in the many months we’ve had them. Our daybed mattress is still going strong, just out of sight for the moment.
Choosing the Wayfair Sleep Mattress
We went with the Wayfair Sleep Mattress for a few reasons: you can choose the depth of the mattress, the quality is quite high, and it’s competitively priced.
Competitor King Size Mattresses range from 345$ to 1 195$, and the Wayfair Sleep clocks in at 439$ CAD for a King.
The memory foam is really nice. I can toss and turn during the night — because pregnancy is SUPER FUN — and Dan doesn’t get disturbed. The same goes for me when he wakes up early to go to work. If only Bruce wasn’t so keen on immediately hoping into bed to replace whoever left.
They’re also super easy to clean, and you can go over them with a vacuum if need be.
Buying a Box Spring from Wayfair
Because we wanted to choose a headboard at a later point (once we had decided on the direction of the space), we kept things really simple with the bed frame and box spring.
I found a simple expandable bed frame, but was super interested in the Wayfair Basics Metal Box Spring. It arrived in a box, and needed to be assembled, but it took me less than an hour. I wouldn’t know that it wasn’t a traditional wood one.
The nice thing about this one, is that it can be taken apart and re-assembled in a small PMQ bedroom if need be. We’ve always been stymied by tight doorways and stairwells, but with both of these we’re totally safe to bend, roll and take apart in order to get them in a space.
Choosing Bedding from Wayfair
So with a mattress and a box spring from Wayfair, it only felt right to get our bedding from there! I had already purchased part of the sheets elsewhere, but I was having a hard time finding a duvet cover in a pattern I liked.
Thankfully Wayfair had exactly what I needed, and gave me the opportunity to filter searches by pattern & print! because, DUH.
Polka dots and I are having a moment, so when I spotted the Capobianco Duvet Cover Set in black and white, I knew it was meant to be.
The print is subtle compared to the others in the space, but it still gives me exactly what I need from it.
