Retro Pink Christmas Tree

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The time when I finally unveil my masterpiece aka the tree for the first time. I’ve had a tree up in the studio since before Halloween! But I’ve only just unboxed my retro pink Christmas tree from Treetopia! Setting it up in the dining room was the kick in the pants I needed to get the dining room up to scratch.

Check out last year’s Retro White Christmas Tree

*Treetopia sponsored this post, but all thoughts are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that make PMQ for two possible.

Christmas tree, O Christmas tree! Your pink beauty amazes me. Come see where I got a marvellous retro pink Christmas tree, and why I went with white ornaments!

Now, after last year’s tree, and my well known love of colour, is it any wonder that this year I got a coloured tree? I did briefly consider a green tree (maybe flocked?) but when Treetopia gave me a choice of any tree from their massive collection, I immediately jumped at the chance to get a pink one – because, duh.

I got the Pretty in Pink Tree 7.5′ with Pink Lights to be precise. I would chosen the clear lights option, but something told me to go with the pink! You’ll have to track me on my IG stories to see what it looks like at night, all lit up.

Let’s all agree to overlook the rug on display in this post. We’ve got a similar situation to our Living Room (plywood under the rug), and I haven’t found my replacement yet. So in the meantime, this dated beauty will have to do the trick.

The dining room is the first thing you see when you walk in the front door, so having the tree angled in a way that you ca immediately see it, was super important to me (and Bruce).

Because the tree is such a lovely shade of pink, I didn’t want to mess around with too many other colours. In a completely uncharacteristic move, I used only white decorations on the tree! I even added silver tinsel for that extra retro feel for our pink Christmas tree.

So far, none of the cats tried to eat the tinsel (and I haven’t found any strewn around the house), so y’all can chill when it comes to the warnings. Boots is absolutely captivated by the tree though.

I do LOVE the view of the tree from the kitchen. This house is absolutely a home in progress, so as we live through the seasons, I get to experience all its quirks and quarks – like how this doorway (and our chandelier) frame the tree perfectly. Would you believe that this is the view from the kitchen counter? What a difference a year makes.

As you can see, we’ve kept the dining room fairly simple for now. I only just painted the walls the other night (Behr’s Rice Curry MQ4-9 from the Marquee Line)! Until we figure out what’s happening with the flooring and the two alcoves on either side of the chimney bump-out, this lovely scene will have to do!

Boots just loves the tree. He sits under it in the evenings – nestled between the lower branches and the furry tree skirt. Toby has joined him a grand total of one time so far, but the season is young.

Now that you’ve seen what I did with mine, you should totally go see what the other bloggers in the series did! And if there’s a tree you’re looking for, check out their “last chance” clearance page! You might catch a heck of a deal.
