Kate Spade Inspired Powder Room – The Reveal

The reveal is here! Time to unveil the completed transformation in our upstairs powder room. It’s hard to believe how fast March went, but here we are at the end of the month and my Kate Spade Inspired Powder Room is ready. The space looks slightly different than I had anticipated, but as with all design projects, things evolve and plans change. I want to quickly thank Jewel of Jeweled Interiors, one more time, for hosting and organizing the entire hop. Thanks girl!

If you’re joining me from This is Our Bliss welcome! Make sure to check out my project gallery // here // before heading over to check out the reveal at  Monica Wants It!

But first! Catch up on Week 1: The Plans // Week 2: The Wallpaper // and Week 3: The Hardware Choices.

Bring a little razzle dazzle to your bathroom with this Kate Spade inspired powder room makevoer. With the right accessories - all is transformed. Grab yourself some removable wallpaper to create vertical black and white stripes, an articulated sconce for sexy lighting, and tons of great brass hardware are the key to this space.

A big part of the bathroom revamp was tidying up the countertop and doing a purge, while streamlining storage and display options.

I fell in love with this malachite jewelry box at Homesense a few months ago, and it was one of the pieces I design the space around. It’s got greens, blues, blacks and whites, so it’s a rich piece to draw inspiration from.

The other piece I included in my board from the get go was this pink suede jewelry box – also from Homesense.

So a big part of the update here – in addition to the wallpaper – is the // new lamp // above the toilet. It’s from Lamp Plus, and is one part of a set that plugs in. I need to take a minute to talk about how amazing that is. As a renter, I can’t be adding light boxes and cutting holes in walls, so finding wall lights are plug-in is a dream come true. Lamps Plus has got almost all the versions they have for regular wall lights, as plug in. Check out their selection // here //

I was going to hang the second one over the hooks next to the wink, but I couldn’t get the distance/height to work without me hitting my head on it, so I’ve decided not to hang it for the moment. I’ll figure it out!

The rest of the bathroom is still very much as it was last week and the week before. In such a small space it’s hard to roll-out the reveal over 3 weeks, especially when I only had a few key things to do. These removable mini vertical stripes from Tempaper sure are a game changer. I normally paint to create change, but this felt like an instant where paint wouldn’t have the desired effect, and sure as heck wouldn’t be as easy as applying the wallpaper.

Don’t forget about my Marley coat and hat hooks from Liberty Hardware. They’re the perfect touch for the space, and still look fab. The towels were how I had planned to add big colour. They’re from Amazon basics // here // but when they arrived they were definitely more blue than green, so a little bit of yellow Riy dye gave them the emerald green shade I always wanted.

And of course, my Renter Friendly Tiled Bathroom Wall // here // is still looking fine as ever. In fact, I gave it a good wash before taking photos, because apparently there was way more toothpaste than I thought.

Also, can we talk about how unattractive toilets and toilet paper dispensers are? ugh.

So back to all that organizing – in cleaning-up the cupboard and countertop, I realized I had a whole bunch of acrylic trays, so when coupled with the new acrylic jewelry displays that I snagged on Amazon, the whole organization situation is under control finally!

Maybe you guys saw my stories on Instagram last week, but I stumbled across a vintage barbie at Value Village, and thought it would make for the perfect accessory in the space as a dash of whimsy.

While her clothes may change, I think her makeup and hair are on target when it comes to the mood of the space, same. What’s more Barbie than a Kate Spade Inspired Powder Room?!

And with that, we’ve come full circle in our tiny little Kate Spade Inspired Powder Room. things are simple, colourful, and very much me.

One thing I really wanted from this space, was for it to work with the other bedrooms on the second floor, and I think it does. There are black and white stripes everywhere, and the pink and green are present in both spaces. Perfection? You tell me.

Now it’s time to catch the other reveals in the Primp and Pamper bathroom reveal!
