Halloween Party Playlist

I thought I’d do something different today. Music is such an intricate part of any party, as much so as the decor and the food your serve, I’d say! So when I was putting together a list of everything I’ll need for my Halloween shindig next saturday, it occurred to me that I would need a kick ass playlist for the evening. What do a bunch of grown women in witch costume giving out candy listen to?

To help me craft my Halloween party playlist I went to my friend Aviva Mirage – one of Toronto coolest retro DJs and burlesque dancers. She rocks funky songs from the past that may or may not sometimes involve poultry from outer space. She can also give any elbow-length glove a run for its money. It’s fun stuff people and it’s probably outside your comfort zone which is why I urge you to look her up! If you’re lucky enough to have her on Facebook she regularly posts status like

“There are so many good songs about werewolves . This is a fact. Lycanthrocknroll. New genre for the people.”

so clearly she was the natural choice for a Halloween party playlist. She also happens to sell some of her fun vintage finds on etsy at Female Trouble Vintage.

Without much further ado:

I Was A Teenage Werewolf by The Cramps
The Witch by The Sonics
I Hear Voices by Screamin’ Jay HawkinsSeason of the Witch by Donovan
Werewolf by The Frantics
She’s My Witch by Kip Tyler
Vampira by Bobby Bare
Tear You Apart by She Wants Revenge
Weird by Bob Vidone
Barricuda by The Page Boys
I Love my Monster by The Vorronas
I’m The Wolf Man by Round Robin
The Monster Hop  By Bert Convy

I’ll admit it’s not your conventional “Monster Mash” kinda playlist, but I didn’t want that either. So if you’re coming knocking on my door next saturday the 31st, I’ll be the one blasting these tunes with the cool Halloween entryway decor.

It’s all be handily assembled into a youtube playlist for your convenience

I even made a snazzy little picture to go with it if you feel like sharing it with your friends! All the cool kids are listening to retro Halloween party playlists this year so don’t be left out!

What else would you put on your playlist? P.s don’t forget you still have time to make this awesome jewelled skull for your decor.

Live boldly y’all
