DIY Yung Frankenstein

If you’ve been following the rap game for more than 5 mins, you’ll know that all the kids these days have got as many tattoos on their face as Doodle Bears did when we were kids. It’s nuts. So while walking through Michael’s earlier this season, when I saw a blank Frankenstein head, my first thought was “I gotta do something with this.” And so, with some temporary tattoos I created Yung Frankenstein – his mixtape is ???? ???? ????

I’m sure you’ve seen at least rap video on youtube these days, so hopefully you’ll find this DIY as funny as I do. You can stick a candle in the head and watch the light flicker through the eyes, or you can just plop him on a table and enjoy his colourful campyness.

What you need to make a Yung Frankenstein

This is real simple: temporary tattoos, a giant frankenstein head (or pumpkin, or vampire, or ghost etc.), water and a sponge.

I found mine at Michael’s, but I’m sure there’s something similar available in other craft stores, so feel free to use anything similar!  I found this pack of temporary tattoos on amazon for 11$ and they qualified for Prime! Wahoo!

Applying Temporary Tattoos to Frankenstein

I don’t really think I need to explain how to apply temporary tattoos, but if you do, it’s real simple. Peel back the plastic cover, wet the surface where you want to apply the tattoo. Place the tattoo face down and cover with a damp sponge, hold for 30 seconds.

Displaying Yung Frankenstein

This project shouldn’t take you more than 5-10 mins, depending on just how many tattoos you want to use. He would look mighty handsome on a coffee table, near your speakers (with music blasting), or sitting on a console near your entryway. Basically any place you’d put other Halloween decor.
