Colourful & Curated Christmas Tablescape

One of my favourite posts each season is the tablescape I create for entertaining. It’s always something a little different and fresh, but it’s always colourful. This year’s Colourful & Curated Christmas Tablescape is one for the books because of how simple it is – at least in my eyes. I think the real scene this year is happening on the sideboard, but that’s just because it’s displaying my super fun cake and cocktail situation. So without further ado, my Colourful & Curated Christmas Tablescape!

Oh wait! Before we get started I’d like to thank Chloe for organizing this hop, and for including me. Make sure you scroll to the bottom to see what else everyone is up to this week.

*HomeSense sponsored this post, but all thoughts are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that make PMQ for two possible.

Create a colourful and curated Christmas tablescape with pops of retro and nostalgia. The look is festive and trendy without being overpowering, and my Christmas gift centerpiece is pretty darn impressive.

You may have seen my dining room decor in the Christmas house tour // here // but it looks totally different for my Colourful & Curated Christmas Tablescape. I’ve swapped a lot of accessories, added new ones, and jazzed it up where appropriate. as you can see, one of my poinsettias moved into the dining room and is hanging out in a nice ray of sunshine.

Okay, so this cake was a stroke of genius. I saw a version of this on Lauren Conrad’s blog – although hers had way more stuff on it. I used some of my extra bottle brush trees and some fun candles I’ve had kicking around for a while. The little sugar spun mushrooms are an extra dash of whimsy that I think complete the look.

I’ve been collecting little seasonal nicknacks from HomeSense for a few years now. These little sky plates are from 2 years ago, and the cake stand is even older! The napkins, dishes, and cutlery are also HomeSense finds, so it goes to show that you can 100% set an interesting and unique tablescape even while shopping in one store.

The centerpiece is a Kate Spade runner I found at HomeSense (for 24$!!!) and added big gift boxes with pretty bows. Two simple candles and two of my vintage deer frame the whole thing nicely. It’s simple by my standards, but impactful. The best part is that everything has a place and a purpose after it’s all done.

You may have noticed how that top shot is framed to showcase a sleeping kitty cat. Boots is almost always sitting on that foot stool, or running around the dining room. There’s no dinner party without him, hence his inclusion in the hop.

Like I said, this Colourful & Curated Christmas Tablescape is really happening on the sideboard really. It’s where I’ve got that cake plus some delicious pomegranate and vodka cocktails. The glasses and pitcher are a last minute find from Homesense and am absolutely going to be using them for NYE as well.

The little bird with the marching band hat was found in the clearance isle of HomeSense because his tail had been broken off. I scooped him up for a bargain and brought him home with me. He fits right in next to the liquor bottles.

The gift tags from HomeSense are perfect little place cards, and I can reuse them on gifts later too 😉

And that’s all for this year! I’ve got a NYE cocktail bar going up on the blog next week, so make sure you circle back for that if you’re interested.
