Okay so I bowled y’all over with my Colorful Thanksgiving Kids Table, so are you ready for a few wild and Bold thanksgiving place setting ideas for the big kids table aka the adults table? I sure am. I found some really fun patterns on Roostery, and matched my china and accessories to match.

Roostery challenged me to create 3 bold and maximalist thanksgiving place settings using a wild variety of patterns and prints from their designer marketplace. I definitely think I rose to the challenge, I mean, look at these place settings! How fun! And the best part — I think — is how I’ve mixed in china pieces that you, or your mom, or your grandma have. They feel 100% doable and a fun adventure in tablescapes.
The Frosty Forest Thanksgiving Place Setting
This is one of my fave bold place settings. Not just because of the rich shades of forest green, or the icy blues in the accessories, but because of the all work together so well. The varied patterns and prints from the Roostery finds work because they are unified through colour, and I love it.

Because there is so much green, I needed to cut the tone with a contrasting shade. And because I never make anything obvious, I went with a non-traditional seasonal hue. Icy blue is not only Christmas & winter appropriate, but it really pops against all the greens.
I relied on golds to unite the two disparate shades. The cutlery and flower picks bring just enough sheen to sparkle. I used black and white in the china patterns in bold patterns, to balance out the details of the delicate linens.
The Red & Wild Thanksgiving Place Setting
The second I spotted this leopard-like print in red and blue, I knew it would make for the perfect thanksgiving tablecloth. I mean, how could it not?! Think of how much blue china you have (don’t lie, you’ve got some Blue Willow somewhere), and think of how good it would look against the Chintzy placemat and wild tablecloth. The yellow in the napkins helps balance the two hues, will popping on its own.

When it came to the china, I stuck to the existing colours at play, but used simpler patterns (or none at all) to avoid having too busy a table. Remember folks, this is a more is more is more decor kinda place, so I do love me some patterns.
Finally, for the flowers, I added some simple green flowers in an olive green Portmeiron vase. I don’t use those colours anywhere else, just here. It’s these little nods of boldness that make this thanksgiving place setting truly unique.
The Fall Harvest Thanksgiving Place Setting
This last set is also going in my “faves” pantheon of tablescapes. It’s got purple, unique china sets, and it mixes all kinds of fun elements. What’s not to love about a bold purple tablecloth, and mid mod yellow napkins?!

I used shades of pink and orange (with pops of blue) to really pull all of these hues together. The abstract placemats give me the wiggle room to do so, and because there are more than a few busy prints at play here, I chose them sparingly, and kep the other details like glassware and cutlery, simple.
Because thanksgiving is so close to Christmas, don’t be afraid to mix in seasonal baubles to add depth and sheen to your decor scheme.
