If you’ve been following me on instagram, Facebook, or Pinterest, you know that I’ve had many little projects in the works for a couple of weeks now. Whether it be starting to pull out our decorations, or planning and prepping for parties and events, PMQ for Two has been prepping for the 2014 Holiday season since we moved!
In our case, I’ve been putting things up and getting them ready for two weeks now, much to the disappointment of my finger-wagging friends. I normally don’t decorate until the second weekend in December, but this year it started after Remembrance day, because I seem to have so very little time to do anything! With our busy social calendar, helping-out friends, and my fluctuating work hours, I only seem to be able to steal 30 minutes here, maybe 15 there. I wanted to avoid a 24 hour frenzy the night before our party this coming weekend, and I thought that by putting deadlines for myself and getting everything out, that it would sort of happen. It has and it hasn’t.
The decorating process has seemed much more drawn-out than it usually is, but that’s also because I’ve been planning everything! Last year I threw it al out there and added bits and pieces as the month progressed. As I saw other people’s homes on house tours, I wish I had spent more time thinking things out, and was determined to do a better job this year.
If you ask DH he will tell you that normal people do not plan their holiday decor, but I think he’s naive. Things don’t look beautiful and put-together at the drop of a hat, it takes time and planning and budgeting.
One of the things I love about him is that he supports me in my ventures, even when I try and create a colour palette for the christmas tree or our entry-way Nutcrackers. This year’s colours are show-stoppers, so I hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
In terms of content on the blog this month, we’ll be looking at fun and visually interesting ways of wrapping gifts; The Christmas Holiday Home-Tour feasting myself and a couple other military families who were generous enough to open their doors to us; Christmas party tips & tricks; tree trimming, and so much more!
I’ll start rolling-out the House Tours tomorrow, so stay tuned!
