I know I’ve been saying this for a week or two now, but it’s true! It’s fall! ESPECIALLY here in Quebec where last week we had frost on the cars in the AM and I had gloves on for my drive to work (can you believe?!)
Quebec’s seasons seem to switch as if by clockwork on the 1st of the month, which is something I’m still not used to. It’s all fun and games with the leaves turning, but just wait until there’s snow in November ugh.
I shared a post earlier about fall touches in and around our PMQ, and since then I’ve been implementing a couple of them. The biggest changes have come after my trip to Ottawa this weekend to see my handsome man and visit with my parents for a fundraiser.
Every year we gather for #jaimiesparty in honour of the Jaime Anderson Parliamentary Internship and enjoy a night of BBQ, blues and rock, and good company. This time around, it provided the perfect opportunity for me to reunite with DH and get into fall while shopping the Byward Market – just look at the colours!
I started small this year, waiting until the end of September to even do the chalkboard with some fun word art that embodies the spirit of the season for us
That isn’t to say that I haven’t had fun with some warmer, cozier fall touches around the house, namely in the living room with the addition of our Threshold poof (which I ended-up getting for 5$ because of a price mix-up at Target) and FINALLY placing a print I got at Indigo this summer.
The stores are obliging me this year with plenty of halloween and fall booty to be had!
While in Ottawa I obliged and went nuts on gourds and small pumpkins, but I’ve heard tell of a farm on L’Isle d’Orleans that charges 40$ a wheel barrow for everything you can fit in there! I am that person who pays 40$ for pumpkins to lay on her front and back stoops.
Last but not least, my food has fallen for fall! I’ve been making pumpkin spice muffins left, right, and centre. I must be hungry! I use the canadian living recipe found here, and even use the recipe for the icing!
I’ll have more updates in the next week or two as I prepare for thanksgiving and DH’s return, so stay tuned! I also have the baby shower post coming down the pipe any day now!
