This PMQ backyard design has a completely different focus: family eating!
I’ve centred the design around two anchors: the table and the BBQ. Along with a healthy and subtle dose of colour, the lanterns, umbrella and pillows allow for a more cozy feel to what is usually mass produced furniture, which you will see in everyone’s backyard.
With this option, plants take more an emphasis: they’re easier to maintain than flowers, they add to the feeling that you’re not sitting in someone’s backyard, rather in a magnificent garden, and can be brought indoors once the weather turns!
I’ve wanted a chaise for the backyard for YEARS now, and this looks like it’s gonna be my year! I’m shopping around, and will be sure to share my finds.
This model is easily supplemented with trellises for privacy, and/or a fire pit! The backyard lots are surprisingly deep, and be sure to ensure with CFHA to clarify on exactly how far your unit poperty-line goes.
If trellises aren’t your thing, you can add low boxed planters to create a makeshift wall on all sides. It makes for a pretty and subtle reminder to your neighbours that they shouldn’t play fetch through your little oasis!
Once again, you can find almost ALL of these pieces at your local big box store, or online. The pricing really depends on you!
