Hello Ford Canada,
Welcome to PMQ for two – a site where I create bold, bright, colourful & eclectic home decor and DIYs. I’m reaching-out in the hopes of partnering on a road trip diaries post series this august and have included my full proposal below.
My work has been featured online with Martha Stewart, Better Homes and Gardens, Apartment Therapy, House Beautiful, Domino Magazine, Brit.co etc. You can read more about that // here //
My husband and I currently live on CFB Gagetown (just outside Fredericton in New Brunswick). We’re a military family, so all of my projects are geared towards being renter friendly and making each house a home.
Although I am primarily a home decor and DIY site I occasionally feature lifestyle posts. While I have limited plans to expand that repertoire, the content I feature is bold, bright, colourful & creative. This summer, that means a few informal road trip diaries: colourful lifestyle shots for each trip, showing what inspires me, the locale, where we stayed, what to do, and how to do it. Although we have a number of smaller trips planned around the maritimes (places we can hit on the weekend), the jewel in my summer crown will be a trip down to Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts at the end of August (August 20th-28th).
On average, PMQ for two receives 15,000 unique page views each month, with roughly 7,000 unique viewers and 8,500 sessions.
On average I reach 3,000 people per photo with 180 likes (and growing!). You can view my Instagram account // here //

My husband and I will be driving down with the dog, our bicycles and all the required beach kit (beach chairs, umbrella etc). This is where you come into play. See, we don’t have a vehicle that can get all that from point A to point B.
A huge part of what I do is getting things from point A to point B. Over the years as the blog has grown, our need for a vehicle to haul bigger and weirder things has grown, along with our plans for a family. We’ve been biding our time, waiting for the right moment to invest in a pick-up truck. As millennials you can be sure we’ve done the research, priced it all out, and are eagerly anticipating the day we can finally have a truck of our own. Within the military community the Ford 150 is also the vehicle of choice, so we’ve heard nothing but good things. We’re planning to purchase one this winter with some new years’ sales and discounts and Ford is our first choice.
Back to the summer road trip, we thought this would be the perfect time to test-drive a Ford F150 and showcase it on the blog as part of our Martha’s Vineyard vacation.
The plan is to drive from Oromocto, NB down to Woods Hole, MA (USA) and spend the night in a super cute seaside motor lodge // here // before taking the only vehicle ferry // here // over to the island.
We’ll be staying in a charming AirBnB // here // for 2 nights and will enjoy the local beaches, the bars, and all the island has to offer by bike and truck.
We plan on driving around the whole island and biking when we can. On our third day we’ll pack-up and take the ferry back to the mainland.
We’ll then head back into Canada to CFB Trenton for a night (and drop my husband off), before I head into the heart of Toronto for a few days with family and friends. I plan on visiting a few of my favourite summer attractions and driving around town for my various social engagements.
I’ve spoken with Melissa Prince who has informed me that Ford has a fleet of vehicles available for this sort of thing down in Montreal (on our way), but our preference would be to start with a vehicle in New Brunswick as we do not currently own a vehicle that can move all of us (and our kit) to Montreal.
We’re asking for a Ford F150 from August 21st until August 28th.
In exchange, we’re offering a 3 part blog post series and associated social media promotion (5 instagram photos, 4 Facebook posts, High-res pinnable images and associated branded FB/IG storytelling during the trip).
We can also take a series of stock images (20) for your use across social media channels showing the vehicle in a variety of situations i.e waiting for the ferry dockside, next to the beach with all our stuff, on the road in New Brunswick, in downtown Toronto etc. We live a busy life and our next vehicle has to suit it.
If Ford is able to help cover some of the incidentals associated with the use of the truck such as the cost of the ferry from Wood’s Hole to Oak bluffs (about $200USD round trip to bring the truck) or even a gas card, it would be much appreciated.
Here are some specifics for you to consider:
- We are estimating to drive 2,455 kms in that period (with vehicle pick-up and drop-off in Montreal – add 1,600km if we can get a vehicle in Fredericton).
- We will be crossing the international border into the U.S. with the vehicle.
- We will be bringing a dog with us inside the vehicle (always clean, not destructive etc.)
- The vehicle will be doing everything from highway to city driving.
You’ll have to pardon me for borrowing heavily from Sarah Vickers at Classy Girls Wear Pearls, her channels are synonymous with colourful, classy and young New England lifestyle. I’ve created a story board for the trip to help convey the types of visuals we’re hoping to capture in the posts and with the Ford vehicle.
In conclusion, I hope you’ll consider my offer as a first in a series of hopefully many opportunities for organic collaborations between the Ford brand and PMQ for two.
