Big news for me on a professional level – I’m changing jobs in about 4 weeks. Wahoo!
I’ll be working from home, and traveling occasionally for work. This means several things for a PMQ for Two; I can blog more because I’ll be home and can snap some pics during daytime (with that key daylight) in spare moments, as opposed to waiting for saturday or sunday. I’ll also be looking to turn our very confused guest room into a home office! Off to Pinterest for some home office inspiration.
Since moving-in, our guest room has kind of been like a storage closet for “things.” Unfolded laundry sitting in baskets, frames and art that hasn’t been hung yet, furniture that doesn’t quite have a home right now, and a guest bed. When we got our new bed in December, we moved our old one into the guest room, so at least there’s a nice bed there now! This means I have to find a place for everything that’s in, and transform the space into my ideal home office, which will of course be super stylish and functional.
I’m working through some inspiration boards on pinterest, and am loving some elements from these looks/spaces.
This would be my perfect home office. It’s a study, which is perfect. I need my own escape within the house, somewhere I can leave unfinished projects laying around. DH has the entire basement, and I don’t really have that. I’m working on it! Step 1: own a house. I’m not doing built-ins until we’re in a home of our own.
I love the built-in desk and the detail on the roman blind. The day-bed is what I’m hoping to do with our current bed. I’m thinking about adding a foot-board or board along the wall to better frame our bed as a day-bed.
I really like how the office space is compact and utilitarian. I love the gold shelves and the bold stripes on the wall. I’m still unsure if I want to do a large bookshelf, or shelves on the wall and a smaller unit. Things to think about!
This space is a perfect mix of colour, size, and fun accents. I’m not sure how useful and workable it would be for me in a day-to-day work situation, but if I was just looking for a small home office for bills, blogging etc. this would be ideal!
I love how bright this room is! I’m also in love with the gold bamboo chair and dalmatian print. I don’t think our guest room gets that much light, but if I could get light levels on par with this, I’d be pretty happy.
I’ll be pulling this together in the next couple of weeks, so keep checking back!
