Sunday we hosted 6 people for thanksgiving dinner in our Q; the last event in this space! Want to see what we did last year? Click here. Don’t know what to prep for thanksgiving? Check-out my thanksgiving prep list here.
It was kind of bittersweet actually, we’ve got a rhythm in this space, we know how to structure the flow of an event! It’s a small space for the type of entertaining we do, and we look forward to upgrading!
The table decor was pretty much what I showed you all on friday in this post.
I chose to go with the red patterned napkins which really played to the season, and hid any gravy or cranberry sauce stains people might put on them.
We had a potluck style meal, with Turkey, mashed potatoes, butternut squash, green beans with prosciuto and baby carrots with spicy honey. You can find our stuffing recipe, as well as many many more on Martha Stewart’s website here.
This year was the first time I didn’t have a cook-from-frozen pre-stuffed turkey, which I only discovered saturday evening when I was checking the cook time! You can imagine my surprise when I realized I had to thaw a turkey that was supposed to be thawing for 4 days, and assemble a stuffing! I pulled through though, as always.
When I doubt I turn to the internet for help with recipes and last minute fixes! Martha Stewart is a fail-safe.
Today we took it easy, recovered from all our hard work yesterday, and spent the day at hot yoga and the dog park. It was the first day we had together since DH got back, and we chose to spend the time reconnecting.
More to come this week as I unveil some plans for our new Q!
